TAXPAYERS, LOWER YOUR TAXES AND SUPPORT OUR STUDENTS!

TAX CREDIT: HOW DOES IT WORK?

A Tax Credit, which is the dollar-for dollar reduction of your tax liability, is better than a tax deduction, which only reduces your taxable income before taxes are computed.

Instead of sending all your state taxes to the State of Arizona, you can make a contribution to a public school. A.R.S. §43-1089.01 allows taxpayers a TAX CREDIT  up to $200.00 for “Single” or “Head of Household” tax filers and up to $400.00 for “Married Couple Filing a Joint Return” when contributing to EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES in public schools. This gives you the opportunity to help your local school. The tax credit is available to all taxpayers, regardless of whether they have children in school. It would be advisable to consult your tax advisor regarding your specific tax status.

What is an EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITY?

Extracurricular activity means any optional, non-credit educational or competitive school sponsored activity that supplements the education program of the school. Activities such as sports, visual and performing arts, field trips, outdoor education or character education programs can be funded with tax credit money. Extracurricular activities do not include any events that are recreational, amusement or tourist activities.

WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO?
You may select which school and which program you would like to support. The amount of the tax credit you take does not have to be for the total allowance. You can make a difference in our schools with just $50.00, $75.00, or $100.00. In addition, the credit may be split between one or more schools and/or one or more programs.

LESD79 Letter Grades

"A" Rated School District

This story highlights the Arizona Department of Education's latest school grades report in which Litchfield Elementary School District was designated an "A" rated district with 14 "A" rated schools and 1 "B" rated school.

The Litchfield Elementary School District (LESD79) is excited to announce that our commitment to Educational Excellence has been recognized by the Arizona Department of Education. The latest school ratings have been released, and we are proud to share that our district achieved an impressive record, with 14 of our schools receiving an "A" rating, and 1 school achieving a "B" rating. This makes LESD79 an "A" rated district per the Arizona Department of Education.

“This outstanding achievement demonstrates the dedication, hard work, and collaboration of our Governing Board,  exceptional students, devoted educators, supportive parents, and the entire LESD79 community,” said Superintendent Davidson. He added, "These ratings are not just a reflection of academic success but also a testament to our commitment of providing a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for all our students. We are dedicated to a culture of excellence, collaboration, and  continuous improvement and these ratings are a proud acknowledgment of that commitment. We are all in this together."

The Litchfield Elementary School District remains focused on continuous improvement. The "B" rating, raised from a "C", on one of our campuses serves as an opportunity for celebration and continued reflection, growth, and enhancement. We will continue to be good stewards of our time, energy, and resources; placing a focus on the quality use of early release Wednesdays to raise and maintain the "A" rating across all our campuses, ensuring all of our schools meet the high standards we set for our students and our community.

As we celebrate these achievements, we again acknowledge that none of this would be possible without the dedication of our supportive Governing Board members, community, parents, students, and staff. We look forward to enhanced collaboration as we work together to provide the best educational opportunities for our students.
