A Tax Credit, which is the dollar-for dollar reduction of your tax liability, is better than a tax deduction, which only reduces your taxable income before taxes are computed.

Instead of sending all your state taxes to the State of Arizona, you can make a contribution to a public school. A.R.S. §43-1089.01 allows taxpayers a TAX CREDIT  up to $200.00 for “Single” or “Head of Household” tax filers and up to $400.00 for “Married Couple Filing a Joint Return” when contributing to EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES in public schools. This gives you the opportunity to help your local school. The tax credit is available to all taxpayers, regardless of whether they have children in school. It would be advisable to consult your tax advisor regarding your specific tax status.


Extracurricular activity means any optional, non-credit educational or competitive school sponsored activity that supplements the education program of the school. Activities such as sports, visual and performing arts, field trips, outdoor education or character education programs can be funded with tax credit money. Extracurricular activities do not include any events that are recreational, amusement or tourist activities.

You may select which school and which program you would like to support. The amount of the tax credit you take does not have to be for the total allowance. You can make a difference in our schools with just $50.00, $75.00, or $100.00. In addition, the credit may be split between one or more schools and/or one or more programs. 


Complete the attached form and return to the school of your choice by April 15, 2020 or mail to the District Office prior to April 15, 2020 in order to take it off your State of Arizona taxes at the time you file for 2019. Arizona Tax Credit Donation Form

2021-2022 Insurance OPEN ENROLLMENT

 Begins Monday, April 26 – Sunday, May 9, 2021

(Coverage effective July 1, 2021)


Insurance Open Enrollment for the 2021-2022 school year will be held April 26 - May 9, 2021.  This open enrollment period is for medical, dental, dependent life and vision insurance only.  Open enrollment for all other supplemental benefits is held in November 2021 with coverage effective January 1, 2022.


How to Complete your Open Enrollment Starting Monday, April 26

All employees eligible for medical, dental, life or vision coverage MUST submit their open enrollment ONLINE using the iVisions employee portal.


Step 1. Login to iVisions

Step 2. Select Benefits then HR Benefits Enrollment

Step 3. Submit your online enrollment on or before May 9, 2021

All eligible employees MUST submit their online enrollment for medical, dental, life and vision benefits by May 9, 2021, to continue, change or newly add coverage for the 2021-22 school year. Staff NOT returning next year are not required to submit an online enrollment. If you are unsure of your return you should submit your online enrollment.

B. In-Person - Open House style

Meritain Health and Jeri Burns, Benefits Coordinator, will be available to share information/answer questions at Support Services Training Room on Monday, May 3, 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.  Support Services is located at 18921 W. Thomas Rd., Bldg A, Litchfield Park, AZ 85340. Social distancing and other safety measures will be followed.




ELIGIBILITY:  Full time employees (medical, dental, life), Student Transporters (medical, life), all other employees (including Transportation Monitors) working 30 hours but less than 40 hours per week (medical only)


CLASSIC GOLD BANNER PLAN - Employee 100% paid by District

HDHP-A BANNER PLAN (Formerly HDHP $1500) - Employee 100% paid by District

The District will make a $1,458.00 contribution to the employee's HSA (a per paycheck deposit of $69.43 will be made over 21 pay periods).


COPAY GOLD BANNER PLAN - "Pay to Stay” plan

No rate increase

Employee pays portion of plan. Employee pays $708/year, District funds $7,140.00/year towards remaining cost of employee premium. 

Current Copay Gold Plan members only are eligible for this plan.

DENTAL INSURANCE PLAN  - DELTA DENTAL - Employee 100% paid by District. 

ELIGIBILITY:  Full time employees working 40 hours per week

No rate increase for dependent coverage


ELIGIBILITY:  All employees (other than substitute positions)

Four tiers are offered for vision insurance.

No rate increase 


Employees enrolled in the District’s medical plan are eligible for Teledoc.  Teladoc gives you access 24 hours, 7 days a week to a U.S. board-certified doctor through the convenience of phone, video or mobile app visits.  It's an affordable option for quality medical care.


Eligibility:  All employees enrolled in the District’s medical plan including dependents not enrolled on the employee’s medical plan. 

Cost: $0 - No cost to employee

This benefit is free to those enrolled in the Copay Gold and Classic Gold Plans. HDHP $1,500 enrollees will be charged a $40.00 copay per consultation.

Insurance Deductions for Dependents

Insurance deductions for dependent costs for medical, dental and vision are based on coverage from September to August.

If you change your elections and/or newly add dependents (children and/or spouse) to medical, dental, life or vision, you will be charged premiums for July & August 2021 through payroll deduction by June 8, 2021 or by making arrangements with the Benefit's office.
